Now that you’ve found me, I guess it would only be polite to let you know a little about myself.

name: Kirsty

occupation: woman, wife, slave to two walking barrels of total crazy

random facts about me:

  • I seriously love my birthday.  It is without a doubt my favourite day of the year.  Sorry kiddos!
  • I am a Canadian (and a Briton) living in England and missing life in the Caribbean.
  • I am a university dropout and a college graduate.
  • I am, at times, too honest.  Whatever that means.
  • I like my bacon cripsy. Yes, cripsy.
  • I eat my steak well-done. That’s right, well-done.
  • As of 2008 I am doing the whole Stay At Home Mother thing which has been met with mixed reviews – from my midgets and from myself.
  • Luckily, I am married.  Not that all marriage is lucky, and you’d know this if you managed to catch my dad’s speech at our wedding.  What? You didn’t catch it?  It’s okay, you were probably blinking when it happened.  What is lucky, is that somehow I managed to score the husband that I did.  Perhaps I should have written … I am married .. to the man you grew up dreaming you’d be married to.   Seriously.   He’s great.  Almost 100% of the time, too.
  • I used to want at least 5 children.  And then I had one.  Then I wanted only one, but have ended up with two.  Perfect.  Well they aren’t, but the situation is.  Mostly.  Aside from the times where you want to sleep through the night, enjoy a peaceful meal out or pee alone.
  • I’d rather be on a roadtrip right now.

what have you stumbled upon?

Honestly, I am not too sure.   I started this blog in 2005 and it has gone in a million different directions since then.  It started as a place to talk about what was happening in my life.  Then it became a way to document pregnancies and motherhood.  Somewhere between peeing on a stick and getting the result, my brain changed how it worked and I forgot how to talk about things that really didn’t have to do with children.   Or maybe that’s because our life has turning into being just about the kids.  But after serious neglect in 2010, I’ve decided to go back to basics.  Some posts might even be photoless.  Uh huh, that’s right – sans photo!  And some might not even mention poo, children, pre-school or anything that would lead you believe that I am a mother.   Those posts might be boring to some, but they will be refreshing to me.   I may even return to the good old days when some posts were offensive to some readers.  You know why? Because I can.

Feel free to read up and laugh with or at me  or to run away as quickly as you can when you realise that my crazy might be catching.  It’s okay, I’ve tried to run away from me a couple of times too.
